The Township of West Lincoln has shared the update that after a comprehensive recruitment process, Zoli Rakonjac has accepted the position of Deputy Fire Chief.
Fire Chief Tim Hofsink shared: “Zoli brings a wealth of experience, dedication, a deep understanding of our community, our department values and the dedicated individuals that make up our Fire Services team.
“His commitment to excellence and service has been consistently demonstrated over the years and we are confident he will continue to lead with integrity and vision in his new role.
“We look forward to moving the department forward together, building on our strengths and continuing to serve our community with pride and professionalism.”
Rakonjac became a volunteer firefighter in 2010 with West Lincoln Fire and Emergency Services, where he moved up the ranks to Training Officer Lieutenant, Mechanical Officer Lieutenant, Captain and on a number of occasions has served as Acting Deputy Fire Chief.
Rakonjac is a career Electrician with more than 25 years of experience in the steel industry, including 14 years in a leadership role.
Over his fire career with West Lincoln, he has completed numerous courses through the Ontario Fire College and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. He is fully trained up to the National Fire Protection Association standards as a Firefighter and Fire Officer and is working towards emergency management designations.
