In response to a severe storm that caused widespread power outages in Washington, Verizon is providing free call, text, and data usage for prepaid and postpaid customers in King, Skagit, and Snohomish counties.
The waiver applies from November 21 through November 27, 2024, as reported by Verizon.
Prepaid customers using brands like Straight Talk, Tracfone, and Total Wireless will also have service end dates extended to November 27.
Postpaid customers and small business accounts with 50 lines or fewer will receive automatic credits for usage during the affected period.
Verizon’s engineering teams are actively working to maintain and restore essential network connectivity.
With many areas still experiencing power outages, Verizon is conducting refueling operations to keep network sites functional.
Steven Keller, Pacific Market President at Verizon, stated: “Our teams will continue to work quickly and intentionally to ensure our network remains resilient and to provide support for affected communities.”
Customers in the affected counties do not need to take any action to receive these benefits.
Verizon will automatically waive overage fees for metered prepaid plans and issue credits for closed billing cycles.
This measure applies to all postpaid consumer and small business customers in the designated counties.
In addition to aiding customers, Verizon is prioritizing network services to support first responders in the region.
