The Colombian National Fire Department (DNBC) has announced that on 18 July the National Fire Director, Captain-in-Chief Lina María Marín, swore in the new Deputy Director of Strategic and Fire Coordination and the Deputy Director of Administration and Finance of the Colombian National Fire Department.
Captain Edgar Hernán Molina Macías, with more than 18 years of experience in fire department management and administration, takes on a new challenge in his career as the new Deputy Director of Firefighter Strategy and Coordination.
According to the DNBC, he is a social communicator and journalist and has developed a solid institutional career serving the Colombian National Fire System, particularly within the National Fire Department, where he previously served as a professional specializing in communications and administrative support.
Captain Molina Macías takes on this challenge with the strategic vision of strengthening the coordination of the country’s various fire departments with the National Fire Department, consolidating the entity’s mission processes and promoting firefighting unity throughout Colombia.
Dr. Próspero Antonio Carbonell Tangarife took over as the new Administrative and Financial Deputy Director of the entity, determined to strengthen institutions, optimize resource management and contribute to the harmonious and sustainable development of the Colombian Fire Department.
Dr. Carbonell Tangarife is a lawyer by profession and a firefighter by vocation. He has over two decades of experience in the legal profession, during which he has consolidated a distinguished career as a litigator, legal advisor to public and private entities and a leader in the field of disaster risk management.
He holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and the Environment and has combined his academic training with extensive experience in the firefighting sector, serving as commander of official and volunteer fire departments and as a legal advisor to regional and national authorities.
During this swearing-in ceremony, the National Fire Director stated: “It is an honor to appoint these two great men to these positions.
“I know firsthand and attest that their professionalism will help us move forward and work in a timely manner for the firefighters of Colombia.”
