Telgian to present NFPA 72 2025 Fire Smarts webinar

Telgian has announced that Tom Parris, Vice President of Compliance and Training and a Retired Fire Chief for Putman Township in Michigan, will present a Fire Smarts webinar on the “NFPA 72 2025 Edition Update” on July 10, 2025 from 2:00pm- 3:30pm ET.

NFPA 72 ‘National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code’ is on a three-year revision cycle. This course will focus on the latest edition updates that are in the 2025 edition as well as some of the significant changes from the 2022 edition.

This course will give participants an understanding of what is now considered industry best practice as well as what is required for federal projects.

This includes new spacing requirements for smoke detectors and new battery testing or replacement rules.

Tom Parrish’ background

Tom Parrish has more than 30 years’ experience in fire protection and emergency response. He serves on several NFPA technical committees including NFPA 72 Signaling Systems for the Protection of Life and Property and Emergency Communications Systems.

Parrish is the Immediate Past President of AFAA and is a senior instructor for NFPA.

His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician.

Parrish is board certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS and holds a bachelor’s in Industrial Technology from Kean University.
