Telgian Engineering & Consulting (Telgian) has announced its latest Fire Smarts webinar on “Fire Alarm System Commissioning”, presented by Jim Burian, Regional Practice Leader.
The webinar will take place on 14 August 2025, from 2:00pm-3:30pm ET.
Jim has been involved in various product safety and compliance projects seeking UL testing and approval as well as leading teams of sprinkler and alarm designers, engineers and code consultants providing fire protection services throughout the Mid-West.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, is the Chicago Chapter Chair of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SPFE) and is an active member of AIA Chicago.
Telgian has announced how the course will discuss the purpose and benefits of system commissioning as well as the process for commissioning.
Including testing initiating devices for alarm conditions, testing tamper switches and other warning devices for supervisory alerts and verifying that notification devices function in the event of an alarm.
Documentation best practices will also be covered in the webinar and how that information should be distributed to the stakeholders.
