In recognition of Earth Day on April 22 2025, T2EARTH has announces the launch of OnWood Plywood, the newest advanced eco-friendly fire-retardant treated wood (FRTW) on the market.
Made without toxic chemicals, OnWood is designed to deliver strength, Class A fire retardancy and sustainability —offering builders and developers a healthier, higher-performing, affordable alternative for fire-prone environments.
Combined with OnWood Dimensional Lumber, T2EARTH meets the demands of a new era of eco-friendly fire-retardant “hardened homes.”
Developed for fire-resilient, code-compliant materials, OnWood Plywood is independently certified by the International Code Council (ICC-ESR 4627) and meets performance standards for both structural integrity and fire safety.
Available now in 4’x8′ panels (½”, ⅝”, ¾”), OnWood is intended to be used for framing, sheathing and underlayment—particularly in high-risk wildland-urban interface (WUI) zones and high humidity regions.
Coinciding with the OnWood Plywood launch, T2EARTH is introducing THINKOnWood, a nationwide communities-based initiative to unite professionals across architecture, real estate development, construction, community leadership and code design/enforcement in promoting eco-friendly Fire Hardened Homes as the new building standard.
T2EARTH’s THINKOnWood platform will offer education, policy guidance, building professionals focused collaboration tools and homeowners’ forums to help accelerate safer, affordable and climate-resilient construction.
Joel Kier, Co-Founder and CEO of T2EARTH shared: “OnWood represents the future of building materials: fire retardant, strong, safe, affordable and sustainable.
“And with THINKOnWood™, we’re helping lead a national shift in how we build to meet today’s risks and fire-prone community needs.”
