Streamlight introduces Portable Scene Light III at FDIC International

Streamlight launched the Portable Scene Light III (PSL III) at FDIC International in Indianapolis to provide fire and emergency services with 10,000 lumens of waterproof illumination.

The manufacturer designed the system for high performance in military, industrial, and outdoor response applications.

This new lighting solution features 12 LEDs equipped with wide-pattern reflectors to ensure uniform illumination across a scene.

Users can select from three output levels to manage brightness and battery life during an incident.

The high setting produces 10,000 lumens and 121,000 candela for two hours of operation.

A medium setting provides 5,000 lumens and 61,000 candela for four hours.

The low setting offers 2,500 lumens and 38,000 candela for up to eight hours of use.

Advanced tripod and power features for emergency scenes

The PSL III incorporates a 5-in-1 modular design that allows professionals to use the light head with or without the included tripod.

A quick-mount system and single-button release enable rapid deployment when arriving at a scene.

The light head rotates 360 degrees and pivots 180 degrees to allow precise positioning of the beam.

Adjustments to the light angle can be made while the unit is mounted on the tripod without moving the entire base.

An optional wireless remote allows operators to control the unit or synchronize multiple lights from 75 feet away.

The tripod reaches a maximum height of 233.7 cm and features reversible feet with spiked ends for soft ground and flat ends for hard surfaces.

Engineers rated the tripod for wind resistance up to 40 mph to maintain stability in adverse weather conditions.

The system utilizes swappable lithium-ion batteries and includes AC or DC power options for continuous operation.

Integrated battery management features two cradles to ensure backup power remains accessible to the crew.

Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight President, said: “Whether on the fireground, emergency scenes or complex worksites, reliable lighting is critical for safety, visibility, and operational efficiency.

“The Portable Scene Light III delivers high-lumen output, rapid deployment, and flexible power options to support crews in dynamic, low-light environments.”

The unit features an IPX7 waterproof rating when the battery is installed and uses impact-resistant thermoplastic housing.

The light head weighs 3.4 kg with the battery while the collapsed tripod weighs 6 kg.

Total weight for the combined light and tripod system is 10.7 kg.
