Support aims to help underfunded U.S. fire departments secure resources

Snap-tite Hose has announced the launch of a new grant support program aimed at helping volunteer fire departments in the United States secure funding for essential equipment.

According to Snap-tite Hose, over 70% of the 27,000 fire departments in the U.S. are volunteer-based, with that percentage exceeding 96% in some states, including Delaware, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.

The company said that many of these departments face financial constraints, with limited budgets for new equipment and an ongoing reliance on donations and fundraising.

New specialist appointed to lead grant services

Snap-tite Hose stated that it has hired Breanna Adams as Grants Specialist to oversee the new initiative.

The company explained that Adams brings experience in nonprofit and community-based grant writing and will assist departments with identifying funding opportunities and navigating the application process.

According to Snap-tite Hose, Adams will help departments interpret eligibility requirements, understand commonly funded project types, and improve the quality of their applications.

The company said the goal is to support departments in submitting competitive proposals for federal and state programs, such as FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

Company expands role beyond equipment manufacturing

Jim Novinsky, CEO of Snap-tite Hose, said the company is expanding its mission: “This shift is part of our evolution. We are pivoting from only manufacturing fire hose to actively supporting the mission of the fire service.

“By offering comprehensive grant support, we’re providing solutions to help departments overcome financial barriers and serve our communities more effectively.

“It’s a reflection of our commitment to becoming an innovation solutions pillar in this industry.”

Snap-tite Hose stated that it will continue to manufacture fire hoses while also working to help departments acquire the resources they need to maintain operational capacity and safety standards.

Company outlines long-term goal of increased access

The company explained that many eligible fire departments never apply for grants due to time constraints, unfamiliarity with the process, or lack of dedicated personnel.

Snap-tite Hose stated that the new grant support service is intended to address these issues by offering structured support at no cost to qualifying departments.

Novinsky added: “We want to do more than sell a product.

“We’re building partnerships that support performance, education and progress in the fire service.

“Helping departments get access to funding is part of that.”

Snap-tite Hose said departments interested in receiving support can now schedule a consultation with the grant team.
