Siderise's CW-FS Firestop and CW-CB Cavity Barrier system win big at awards

Siderise® has revealed that its CW-FS Firestop and CW-CB Cavity Barrier system has been selected as a 2025 Architectural 2025 Architectural Record Product of the Year in the ‘Building Systems & Materials’ category by Architectural Record.

Architectural Record are an architecture and design publication headquartered in New York City.

This award recognizes product innovation, performance integrity and meaningful contributions to the built environment.

Launched in the U.S. in January 2025, the CW-FS and CW-CB system represents decades of global testing, research, and refinement, offering a rigorously engineered passive fire protection solution for modern curtain wall façades.

At its core is Siderise’s Lamella vertical-fiber stone wool construction, a unique material technology specifically developed to maintain form, fit and fire integrity under continuous façade and building movement.

This structural resilience is crucial at the perimeter joint, where movement, deflection, and complex geometries challenge traditional firestopping methods.

Modularity and precision

According to Siderise, the CW-FS and CW-CB system is built around modularity and precision.

Available in pre-cut sections in different widths manufactured to tight tolerances or in sheet form for on-site adaptation, the system integrates efficiently into both standard and bespoke cavity conditions.

This specification-forward approach is supported by Siderise’s extensive technical wrapper, which includes:

  • Digital Specification Packs for instant access to up-to-date technical datasheets, certifications, BIM objects, and specification clauses
  • Detailed technical submittals tailored to project geometry and performance criteria
  • Design-stage guidance for architects, façade engineers, and fire consultants
  • Site services, including training, benchmark constructions, and installation inspections via the Siderise app

Together, these resources aid in achieving the performance promised in testing consistently in the field.

Head of Commercial, Siderise North America, Brad Davis’ statement

Brad Davis, Head of Commercial at Siderise North America explained: “We are honored to receive this recognition from Architectural Record.

“The CW-FS and CW-CB system for curtain walling reflects our commitment to engineering passive fire protection solutions that are not only robust and resilient, but that support design teams with transparent, specification-ready information.

“This award reinforces the importance of providing movement-tolerant systems that safeguard perimeter fire containment over the entire design life of the building.”
