The Military Fire Department of São Lourenço in Brazil held forest fire training on Tuesday 24 June, for firefighters from the Civil Defense of Caxambu and Baependi.
The training took place in the Meeting Room of the Caxambu Convention Center and was attended by the mayor and deputy mayor of the municipality.
The course was divided into two modules; theoretical and practical. Participants learned techniques for preventing, combating and controlling fires, in addition to simulating real-life situations in the field.
The initiative intends to reinforce the teams’ preparation for the dry season and highlights the commitment of local authorities to the safety of the population and environmental preservation.
Amid the drought and high temperatures that marked 2024, the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) is preparing for climate variations this year, investing in mitigation and preparation actions.
In 2024, there were more than 29 thousand occurrences and for this year, 2025, the expectation is to reinforce all the initiatives implemented last year, enhancing service throughout the state.
