Streamlight Inc. has introduced the Survivor Pivot, a right-angle LED flashlight designed for use in hazardous environments.
The new flashlight, launched on June 19, 2024, features both spot and flood beams, a 90-degree articulating head, and a push-button switch for easy mode control, as reported by Streamlight.
The Survivor Pivot is suitable for Class 1, Division 1 environments and is also available in a model certified for use in Zone 0 locations.
The flashlight offers a forward-facing LED spot beam for distance illumination and a downward-angled flood beam for close-up tasks.
Users can activate both beams simultaneously to create a comprehensive light pattern that provides 325 lumens, enhancing visibility and reducing risks of slips and falls.
A heavy-duty clip allows for hands-free use, and an optional removable magnet with 30-pound pull strength can secure the light to metal surfaces.
The Survivor Pivot is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in potentially explosive or hazardous environments.
Michael F. Dineen, Chief Revenue Officer of Streamlight, said: “Whether using the flood mode for lighting an emergency scene, or the spot LED when conducting close-up inspections, this light is the perfect addition to any toolbox of intrinsically safe equipment.”
The light’s multi-fuel design allows it to be recharged via its Li-Ion battery pack or used with a USB-rechargeable battery or AA alkaline batteries.
In spot mode, the flashlight’s custom optic produces a narrow beam that cuts through smoke, fog, and mist, while also providing peripheral illumination for navigation.
The flood setting, with its bias reflector, offers maximum area illumination.
The Survivor Pivot provides high and low brightness levels, controlled by a translucent rubber dome push-button switch with a battery status indicator, designed for easy use even with gloved hands.
The new light delivers up to 300 lumens and 34,000 candela in spot mode over a beam distance of 369 meters.
In flood mode, it provides 300 lumens, 300 candela, and a beam distance of 35 meters.
When both beams are combined, the flashlight shines over 276 meters with 325 lumens and 19,000 candela.
The Li-Ion battery pack is rechargeable up to 1,000 times, with a full recharge taking 5 hours using 120/230V AC systems.
The flashlight can also operate using a Streamlight SL-B26 USB rechargeable battery pack or three AA alkaline batteries.
Operating run times vary based on the battery used: from 3.75 hours on high to 16 hours on low with the Li-Ion or SL-B26 battery pack, and from 4.5 hours on high to 15 hours on low with alkaline batteries.
The flashlight’s casing, base, and battery housing are made from super-tough polymer, ensuring durability.
It features a heavy-duty, spring-loaded clip with an attachment D-ring for secure retention on belts and harnesses.
The Survivor Pivot measures 20.14 cm in height and weighs between 448g and 488g, depending on the battery and magnet attachment.
All openings are O-ring sealed to resist moisture, and the flashlight’s polycarbonate lens with silicone anti-scratch coating is housed in a heavy-duty bezel.
The design is IP67 dust-tight and waterproof and has been impact resistance-tested to 2 meters.
