Round Rock Fire Department Wildland Team receive equipment to combat wildfires

Williamson County Emergency Services District No. 9 (ESD9) is taking proactive steps to protect its residents in the county, in a special event, ESD9 unveiled a suite of state-of-the-art wildland firefighting equipment to the Round Rock Fire Department Wildland Team.

The surprise reveal included a Polaris Utility Task Wildlands Vehicle, a purpose-built command center trailer and a specialized firefighting truck, all tailored to address the unique challenges of wildland firefighting in Williamson County’s varied terrain.

The equipment was designed and built by FarrWest, a premier provider of equipment, service and training to the First Responder industry.

Chief, Round Rock Fire Department, Shane Glaiser’s statement

Chief Shane Glaiser of Round Rock Fire Department said: “As the area develops, the risk of wildfires remains a concern, and firefighting strategies must adapt to the changing landscapes. We’re so grateful for ESD9 gifting us with a cutting-edge fleet of wildland firefighting gear. It’s a huge step forward in protecting our community.”

With Williamson County identified as one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas, these new tools will greatly enhance operational capacity, situational coordination and firefighter safety during wildland incidents.
