Rosenbauer America delivers fire trucks to Los Angeles County

Rosenbauer America has reported the first deliveries of its Tractor Drawn Aerials and custom engines to the Los Angeles County Fire Department in California.

According to Rosenbauer America, the total order includes 11 Tractor Drawn Aerial Quints and 8 custom-built engines.

The company stated that the aerial units use Rosenbauer’s COMMANDER cab and chassis, paired with 100-foot SMART aerial ladders and 2000 GPM pumps.

It added that the engines are built on the WARRIOR platform and feature 1500 GPM pumps, auxiliary pumps for wildland use, and foam concentrate systems.

The manufacturer confirmed that a familiarization program involving over 100 Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel was held in March 2025 at the department’s headquarters.

New Rosenbauer TDAs and pumpers enter service in California

Rosenbauer America stated that the Tractor Drawn Aerial Quints feature the SMART aerial system, which includes enhanced controls and safety functionality.

The company explained that the units are built with Rosenbauer’s EXT body construction and are fitted with 300-gallon water tanks.

According to the manufacturer, the accompanying custom pumpers include Hale and Darley pumps, 500-gallon water tanks, and 30-gallon foam concentrate pumps.

Rosenbauer America noted that these configurations support both urban and wildland firefighting operations.

The company confirmed that the familiarization program aimed to help Los Angeles County Fire personnel gain operational confidence with the SMART aerial system.

L.A. County Fire Department conducts training on new Rosenbauer trucks

Rosenbauer America reported that the training session took place from 10 to 13 March 2025 at Los Angeles County Fire Department Headquarters.

The company stated that around 75 firefighters and 30 mechanics participated in the program.

According to Rosenbauer America, the training was focused on operational handling, safety features, and maintenance procedures for the new TDAs.

Rosenbauer America confirmed that future support, including service and warranty provision, will be delivered through its authorized dealer Velocity Fire Equipment.

Velocity Fire Equipment to provide long-term support

Rosenbauer America stated that its dealer, Velocity Fire Equipment, was involved from the outset of the contract.

The company added that Velocity will continue to offer warranty coverage, parts supply, and service support to Los Angeles County Fire.

Background on Los Angeles County Fire Department

Rosenbauer America reported that the Los Angeles County Fire Department was founded in 1923.

According to the company, the department operates 177 fire stations staffed by nearly 5,000 personnel.

It stated that the department serves over 4.1 million residents across 59 cities and all unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.

The company added that Los Angeles County Fire responds to more than 400,000 calls for service each year.

Rosenbauer America also noted that the department’s service area includes the City of La Habra in neighboring Orange County.
