ROCKWOOL’s Board of Directors has approved an investment exceeding $100 million to build a new production line for industrial insulation products at its facility in Marshall, Mississippi.
The project aims to meet increasing demand for insulation solutions in the process industry, particularly in the Gulf of Mexico region.
According to ROCKWOOL, the Marshall site was strategically chosen to address the needs of industrial customers in the southern United States.
The new production line will manufacture products incorporating ROCKWOOL’s proprietary water repellency and corrosion-resistant technologies, WR-Tech and CR-Tech.
These technologies are designed to provide protection against corrosion under insulation (CUI) and offer enhanced water repellency capabilities.
ROCKWOOL’s insulation solutions are suited for demanding industrial environments, including applications for pipes, tanks, and vessels.
In addition to their insulation properties, ROCKWOOL’s products deliver multiple benefits such as fire protection, noise reduction, water repellency, and corrosion mitigation.
The expansion reflects the company’s commitment to supporting industrial infrastructure with solutions tailored to address critical operational challenges.
ROCKWOOL CEO Jes Munk Hansen said:
“North America and the United States more specifically is an important strategic growth area for us. We have four insulation factories on the continent, with a fifth on the way in Washington state. Strengthening our industrial insulation portfolio in the United States is paramount to best serve our customers.”
The new production line is scheduled to become operational in 2027.
The facility is expected to support growing regional demand while providing state-of-the-art insulation products to industrial customers.
