On Saturday, July 20, the Fire Department of the Metropolitan District of Quito organized a workshop aimed at preventing these emergencies.

The event took place at Casa Somos and saw the participation of 50 residents from the Roldós-Pisulí sector.

During the session, Ordinance 075, which outlines comprehensive fire management actions for the Metropolitan District of Quito, was discussed.

Attendees showed a keen interest in the possible impacts of forest fires and the measures outlined in the ordinance.

Topics covered during the workshop

Several critical topics were covered during the workshop, including forest fire prevention strategies, identification of vulnerable areas within the district, and the importance of protected areas and gullies.

The workshop also addressed the plight of animals endangered by forest fires and the crucial role played by firefighters in the community.

The institutional campaign “Together Against Fire” was also highlighted, providing valuable information on community efforts to combat fire hazards.
