Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Lifeline Fire & Security, a proactive video monitoring company based in Hawaii, the company said.
This marks Pye-Barker’s first location in the state, expanding its operations to 47 US states.
According to the company, Lifeline is Hawaii’s leading proactive video monitoring provider and ranks No. 43 on the SDM 100 list.
Founded in 2019, Lifeline offers security, access control, mobile monitoring and 24/7 surveillance solutions.
Its AI-driven systems use video verification and live operator intervention to identify and address threats before escalation.
Pye-Barker said Lifeline’s technology combines advanced analytics and real-time operator response to reduce the need for on-site security guards.
The system enhances efficiency and increases coverage for facilities requiring continuous surveillance.
Lifeline’s co-owners, Todd Bedford and Stuart Lowe, have focused on integrating technology with trained personnel to prevent crime and improve safety outcomes.
Lifeline’s team will continue serving customers in Hawaii following the acquisition.
Lifeline’s community involvement includes support for cancer research, veterans’ initiatives and children’s charities.
Bedford said: “Proactive video monitoring is the future of security.
“We’re grateful to be part of Pye-Barker, where we can deliver our life-saving security solutions to more communities while being part of something bigger.
“As part of Pye-Barker’s integrated life safety services and family-like culture, our support for customers and team can only grow.”
Bart Proctor, CEO of Pye-Barker, said: “Adding Lifeline’s expert team to the Pye-Barker family marks an important step in the growth of our company while allowing us to offer our customers expanded, cutting-edge protection with an entrepreneurial team that shares our people-first values.
“Entering the proactive video monitoring space reflects our continued growth as we embrace the latest technology to enhance safety.
“Now in our 47th state, I’m humbled by the dedication of our team and the impact we’re making across the country.”
Pye-Barker was represented by Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in the transaction.
The acquisition highlights the role of proactive video monitoring and integrated security systems in commercial and institutional protection.
Facility managers, safety officers and building security professionals can use such AI-supported systems to improve incident detection and reduce reliance on physical patrols.
The move also demonstrates how large-scale life safety providers are integrating monitoring, fire protection and security under unified service networks.
This model could influence procurement decisions and regional coverage strategies for fire and life safety contractors across the US.
