October 2, 2024

Pye-Barker acquires PEAK Alarm to expand services in the western U.S.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired PEAK Alarm Company.

PEAK, which was recognized as SDM’s 2023 Dealer of the Year, is ranked 37th on the SDM 100 list of top security companies.

The acquisition expands Pye-Barker’s reach across the western United States and brings more than 100 security professionals to the company.

PEAK’s operations include locations in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and service areas extending to Wyoming, Oregon, and Nevada.

Pye-Barker’s CEO, Bart Proctor, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating: “PEAK’s story is a lot like Pye-Barker’s.

“As a young entrepreneur, Jerry Howe had a dream to protect his community, and through hard work and looking after his people, he created an industry-leading organization.”

PEAK Alarm maintains operations under new ownership

PEAK Alarm, a regional security company founded in 1969, offers a variety of services including fire alarms, security systems, CCTV, access control, and 24-hour monitoring.

The company has grown steadily through strategic acquisitions and expanded its coverage across several states.

Despite the acquisition, PEAK’s current leadership team, including COO Clint Beecroft and CFO Fred Johnson, will continue to serve the company’s existing customers under the Pye-Barker umbrella.

PEAK’s President, Donald Weakley, emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership and care for the employees during the transition.

He stated: “Our success has always been about people – the customers we serve and the dedicated, knowledgeable individuals who work here.

“I’m proud to have PEAK join the Pye-Barker family, which holds the same values.”

Leadership and team integration following the acquisition

The acquisition of PEAK Alarm further strengthens Pye-Barker’s team with over 100 skilled professionals joining the organization.

This integration is expected to support Pye-Barker’s ongoing growth strategy while ensuring consistent service for PEAK’s customers.

Both companies held meetings to celebrate the merger and discuss future collaboration.

Proctor highlighted the alignment between the two companies, saying: “I’m honored to work alongside the talented security and alarm professionals on the PEAK team as we welcome them to the Pye-Barker family.”

This move signals Pye-Barker’s continued focus on growth through partnerships and expansions that align with its values and objectives.

PEAK Alarm’s regional presence boosts Pye-Barker’s market share

PEAK Alarm’s strong regional presence in the West positions Pye-Barker to further penetrate these markets with enhanced security and fire protection services.

PEAK’s established network of six locations will allow Pye-Barker to increase its geographic coverage while leveraging PEAK’s reputation and customer base.

Pye-Barker’s acquisition strategy is part of its ongoing efforts to expand its footprint across the country and strengthen its position in the fire and safety industry.

Both companies expressed a commitment to maintaining the quality and reliability of service that their customers expect.
