Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Systems Design Group (SDG), a provider of security alarms, access control, and fire detection and monitoring systems.
Based in Flemington, New Jersey, this acquisition aims to bolster Pye-Barker’s presence in the tri-state area, enabling broader customer service in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Pye-Barker, a national leader in fire protection, life safety, and security services, seeks to integrate SDG’s resources and expertise into its existing operations, offering customers enhanced fire and security protection.
This acquisition reflects Pye-Barker’s continued growth strategy to expand its reach and services in key regions across the United States.
Founded in 1979 by Thomas D. Shore, Systems Design Group has grown significantly over the years.
Initially focusing on local markets, SDG expanded its services and geographical reach, adding capabilities in fire and security alarm systems, access control, and video surveillance.
Robert Shore, who took over after his father’s passing, has furthered the company’s growth by enhancing service offerings and acquiring companies with similar goals and technologies.

Systems Design Group brings a range of services to Pye-Barker, including 24/7 monitoring and emergency response capabilities for fire and security threats.
The SDG team provides installations, testing, and inspection of fire alarms, burglar alarms, access control, CCTV, and explosion-proof systems, particularly for manufacturing and chemical industries.
SDG’s mass communication and fire suppression systems offer additional protections monitored by a central station, ensuring continuous oversight.
