Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, a fully integrated and comprehensive fire protection, life safety, and security services provider in the United States, has recently expanded its reach in the Mid-Atlantic by acquiring Absolute Fire Protection, Inc.
This move strengthens Pye-Barker’s growing presence in this region, enhancing its capacity to ensure full fire code compliance for businesses throughout the area.
Absolute Fire Protection, headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, is renowned for its extensive range of services, including fire sprinkler services, fire alarm installation, and round-the-clock alarm monitoring, covering the Washington-Baltimore metro area, all of Maryland, and parts of Delaware.
Absolute Fire Protection was founded in 1989 by Larry Cate and Dan Mathias, who envisioned creating their own business since meeting as freshmen in a Maryland high school.
The company, which started with a singular sprinkler job when the founders were 22, has grown into a robust business with over 100 team members.
Reflecting on the journey, Larry Cate expressed pride in their achievements: “From a single sprinkler job when we were 22 years old to a thriving business with more than 100 team members, we’re proud of what we’ve built at Absolute Fire.”
He added, “We trust Pye-Barker to honor Absolute’s legacy as we take this next step.”
Cate and Mathias have actively promoted their industry to the youth, investing in their community college’s skilled trade development center and establishing an advanced training facility for Absolute’s apprenticeship program.
Dan Mathias highlighted the importance of growth and opportunities for their team: “Our team’s career paths depend on our company’s growth, and Pye-Barker’s resources will provide a new level of opportunity for everyone to progress.”
Bart Proctor, CEO of Pye-Barker, praised the co-founders’ ethos and commitment: “Larry and Dan are the type of people we admire at Pye-Barker – go-getters who worked hard to build their business and use their success to uplift others,” he said.
“We’re honored to carry on their legacy with the highly skilled Absolute team.”
The acquisition promises to maintain continuity for Absolute’s clientele, with Cate, Mathias, and their team of technicians and engineers continuing to serve customers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
