Polyglass has become the first manufacturer to receive a CAL FIRE Building Materials Listing (BML) for low-slope roofing systems.
This certification provides architects and contractors in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) with verified fire-resistant solutions for flat-roof projects.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) approved these systems after a rigorous evaluation of their ability to meet safety standards in high-risk fire zones.
By securing this listing, Polyglass enables building professionals to fulfill mandatory code requirements while improving the defensible space of structures during wildfire events.
The newly listed systems utilize Burn Shield Technology – a patented innovation designed to block flame spread and prevent fire from penetrating building structures.
The approved product lines include Extreme Fire Resistance (XFR) and Fire Resistant (FR) membranes that create multi-layer barriers against radiant heat and embers.
Commercial applications utilize base sheets such as Elastoflex SA V FR in combination with membranes like Elastoflex SA P FR or Polyflex SA P FR.
For residential projects, Polystick XFR and Polyanchor XFR provide Class A fire resistance when installed under asphalt shingles, wood, or metal roofing.
Polyfresko G SA FR offers additional utility by combining fire resistance with reflective properties to lower building cooling costs.
