Perimeter Solutions has opened a new manufacturing and distribution plant in Sacramento, California, according to Aerial Fire Magazine.
The facility is located at McClellan Park and officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 26.
It will serve as a production site for PHOS-CHEK fire retardants and foam concentrates.
The company said the plant will operate with high-efficiency systems, including a HEPA filtration setup designed to maintain near-zero emissions.
It will also function as a key logistics hub, given its proximity to McClellan Airport and major transport infrastructure.
The new facility will support fire response operations by enabling rapid delivery of PHOS-CHEK products, Perimeter Solutions said.
Shannon Horn, Chief Operating Officer, stated that McClellan Park’s location near a major aerial firefighting base allows fast turnaround times.
“This allows us to quickly move PHOS-CHEK directly to firefighting aircraft, or ship it across North America within hours,” Horn said.
“Additionally, the site provides a central geographic advantage in the Western U.S., complementing our existing locations in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest.
“It enhances our regional coverage, boosts response agility, and reinforces our supply chain resilience.”
Horn added that highway and rail links at the site improve distribution options.
“We will leverage both modes of transport depending on destination, volume, and time sensitivity—especially during peak fire activity when speed is critical,” he said.
The 110,000-square-foot plant has been designed with automated batching, digital quality controls, and real-time logistics software.
Horn explained that the site can produce up to 360,000 pounds of PHOS-CHEK fire retardant per day.
“With the addition of McClellan Park, our total production capacity across all PHOS-CHEK manufacturing sites exceeds 1 million pounds per day,” he said.
“This scale enhances our ability to meet national and international demand during severe wildfire seasons.”
He added that the facility will produce multiple formulations, including MVP-Fx, 259-Fx, and LCE20-Fx, which feature visibility, aerial use compatibility, and environmental performance.
The McClellan Park facility begins with 12 employees for operations and logistics, the company reported.
An additional 15 workers will be based at McClellan Airport in support roles.
Horn said staffing will increase during periods of higher wildfire activity.
“Staffing levels will scale seasonally based on wildfire activity, with additional team members brought on during peak periods,” he said.
“For example, during peak fire season, the plant is prepared to operate 24/7 to meet urgent needs, with flexible staffing and shift structures in place to support around-the-clock production.”
Horn said the investment reflects Perimeter Solutions’ intent to upgrade its support for fire services across the region.
He cited upgrades to other California sites including San Bernardino Airbase and Fox Field Airbase.
“Building this new facility along with updating our capabilities at San Bernardino Airbase and Fox Field Airbase in Lancaster, California, helps to strengthen our ability to respond rapidly to wildfire emergencies with the highest quality fire retardant technology available,” Horn said.
“We are focused on ensuring that firefighters have what they need, when they need it, to save lives and protect property from wildfire.”
Perimeter Solutions has opened a fire retardant manufacturing and distribution facility in Sacramento, California.
The new site is located at McClellan Park.
It was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting on June 26.
The plant covers 110,000 square feet and took two years to build.
It will manufacture PHOS-CHEK fire retardants and foam concentrates.
The site can produce up to 360,000 pounds of product per day.
It is equipped with automated batching and digital quality monitoring.
It will initially employ 12 staff at the plant and 15 at McClellan Airport.
Staffing will expand during peak wildfire seasons.
The facility supports broader operations across the western U.S.
It complements sites in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest.
The company said this reflects wider investment in fire readiness infrastructure.
It includes recent improvements at San Bernardino and Fox Field Airbases.
