Oshkosh Airport Products, a business of Oshkosh Corporation, has delivered two Striker 6×6 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles to Chile’s Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC).
The vehicles will support emergency response at Chacalluta de Arica Airport and Araucanía de Temuco Airport.
The DGAC has maintained a relationship with Oshkosh since 1978, relying on their ARFF vehicles for performance and reliability.
Manuel E. Retamales Lolas, S.S.E.I Director at DGAC, said: “We identify with Oshkosh Airport Products because like our department, their team provides reliability, trust, and security. The excellence that identifies us as a team, we also find in the Oshkosh Striker ARFF vehicles.”
The Striker 6×6 ARFF vehicles are equipped to meet the unique operating conditions of Chile’s airports.
Chacalluta de Arica Airport, located in one of the driest cities in South America, benefits from the Striker’s 12,500-liter water capacity and advanced fire suppression systems.
At Araucanía de Temuco Airport, the vehicle’s TAK-4 Independent Suspension system improves response efficiency, while its firefighter-friendly cab design enhances operational usability.
Robert Colon, associate manager of international sales for Latin America at Oshkosh Airport Products, said: “DGAC is a forward-thinking team, and we are honored to continue supporting their modernization efforts with our latest technologies.”
