NVFC announce application period for DripDrop Campaign

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has announced how the application period for the 2025 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign is now open.

For the sixth year, DripDrop has partnered with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) to provide 200,000 electrolyte sticks to volunteer fire departments to keep responders hydrated during wildfires, summer heat, long incidents and more.

A total of 1,000 volunteer fire departments will receive 2 cases (200 sticks) each of electrolyte powder.

Firefighters work in high-heat, high-stress environments while wearing hefty gear and carrying heavy equipment. Without the proper precautions, this can lead to dehydration and heat related injuries.

DripDrop is designed to act as fast hydration that works to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes quickly, so responders can perform at their best, both physically and mentally.

Chair, NVFC, Steve Hirsch’s statement

NVFC Chair Steve Hirsch shared: “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with DripDrop electrolyte powder to make sure that volunteer departments have the resources they need to protect their responders from dehydration and avoid heat-related illness and injury.

“Local volunteer departments often have to stretch every penny and this donation will ensure that they are able to provide critical hydration to those who keep their communities safe.”

Chief Marketing Officer, DripDrop Hydration, John Shea’s statement

John Shea, Chief Marketing Officer at DripDrop Hydration commented: “We’re honored to collaborate with the National Volunteer Fire Council for the sixth year in a row to support volunteer fire departments across the U.S.,

“It’s a privilege to have earned the trust of firefighters nationwide and we’re proud to help power their heroic efforts to ensure their communities stay safe.

The application period closes at 8pm ET on July 22.

Department eligibility

To be eligible to apply, departments must have at least one active member of the NVFC. Member name and email address used for NVFC portal login must be provided.

The department must be over 50% volunteer; paid on-call is considered volunteer and located in the US and legally organized under state law.

A physical address must be provided for shipping; product cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.

Recipients must use the donation for the benefit of their department and not for any other purpose. They must agree that their department name, details from application and photo may be used in media by DripDrop and the NVFC for the purposes of promoting the program.

Only one application will be accepted per department; any subsequent applications received for that department are ineligible.

Priority consideration will be given to departments that respond to wildfires and those that did not receive a donation in 2024.
