The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has partnered with STEPR to provide fitness equipment to volunteer fire departments in the United States.
Through the STEPR Health & Safety Giveaway, three departments will receive a STEPR PRO+ stair climber, an accessory pack, an initial warranty, and training to support physical and mental well-being among responders.
The initiative aims to enhance the fitness levels of volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue personnel.
To apply for the giveaway, fire departments must meet several criteria.
They must be at least 50% volunteer, legally organized under state law, and based in the United States.
Indian or tribal entities that are not organized under state law are also eligible.
Additionally, the applicant or department chief must be a member of NVFC.
Departments must demonstrate the need for the equipment, explain its intended use, and confirm they have adequate space for storage and training.
The STEPR PRO+ stair climber is designed for functional fitness and offers a full-body, low-impact cardio workout.
It helps improve endurance, leg strength, and cardiovascular capacity—key fitness elements for first responders.
The equipment does not require a STEPR subscription and features commercial-grade durability, making it suitable for firehouse environments.
The initiative aims to support the physical readiness of firefighters to meet the demands of emergency response.
Applications for the giveaway must be submitted by March 9 through the NVFC website.
One recipient will be selected each month in April, May, and June.
More information, including detailed eligibility requirements and the application form, is available at www.nvfc.org/STEPR.
