New medical products to support EMS professionals

North American Rescue (NAR), a provider of casualty-care medical products, will present several solutions aimed at addressing the challenges faced by EMS professionals at the EMS & FIRE PRO Expo.

The event will take place from October 24 to October 26, 2024, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

As reported by North American Rescue, the company plans to showcase a range of its innovative products, including the Enhanced ARS® (Air Release System), the NAR Responder Ballistic PPE Vest, the Quantum Blood & Fluid Warming System, and Tactical Medical Kits.

David Davis, Executive Director of Public Safety Sales at NAR, said: “North American Rescue is dedicated to providing high-quality products that help to support first responders in the various situations EMS professionals may face.”

He emphasized the company’s commitment to the tactical medicine field and the importance of reliable solutions for first responders.

Enhanced ARS designed for improved emergency care

Among the products to be demonstrated, the Enhanced ARS® is notable for being a 2023 EMS World Innovation Awards Winner.

This product is designed to assist in needle chest decompression for tension pneumothorax.

Its sharpened needle tip aims to improve the precision of insertion, while the catheter features three fenestrations to enhance air release.

Centimeter markings on the device are intended to help control the insertion depth, potentially reducing the risk of occlusion.

NAR aims to demonstrate how this product could improve the safety and efficiency of emergency care for EMS professionals dealing with life-threatening situations.

Ballistic protection for EMS and Fire personnel

Another focus at the expo will be the NAR Responder Ballistic PPE Vest, which offers advanced ballistic protection designed specifically for Fire and EMS personnel.

According to NAR, the vest is shaped and configured to maximize protection while allowing for the physical movements required during emergency situations.

The vest is intended for use in dangerous environments, such as active shooter incidents or rescue operations.

The company highlights that this vest can be particularly useful in situations where EMS professionals face high-risk, violent environments.

Quantum blood warming system for hypothermia prevention

The Quantum Blood & Fluid Warming System will also be featured at the event.

This system is designed to warm blood, blood products, and intravenous solutions for both adult and pediatric patients.

With a warm-up time of just 24 seconds, the system is compact and lightweight, making it suitable for use in hospital settings, clinical fields, and transport environments.

NAR emphasizes that the system is aimed at preventing hypothermia during emergency care situations.

According to the company, this system represents a vital tool for healthcare professionals working in various high-pressure settings.

Tactical medical kits designed for life-saving care

NAR will also display its Tactical Medical Kits, which are designed to provide life-saving care at the point of wounding.

These kits are described as compact, lightweight, and durable, optimized for use in tactical operations.

NAR’s team, which includes many veterans and former special operations medics, law enforcement, and SWAT professionals, ensures that these products are mission-oriented and tailored to the evolving needs of modern EMS professionals.

These tactical kits are intended to provide first responders with the essential tools they need to deliver critical care in the field.
