The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is now accepting nominations for its 2025 volunteer fire service awards.
The awards include the William J. Darley Lifetime Achievement Award, Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award, Junior Firefighter of the Year, and Junior Firefighter Program of the Year.
Submissions are due by 5 p.m. EST on January 17, 2025, and aim to recognize the dedication and achievements of individuals and programs within the volunteer fire service.
According to the NVFC, the awards celebration will take place on May 9, 2025, in Alexandria, Virginia, for most recipients.
The Junior Firefighter Program of the Year will instead be honored locally to allow program members to participate.
The William J. Darley Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a volunteer firefighter with at least 20 years of service.
Sponsored by Darley, the award celebrates exemplary achievements in fire service and community involvement. Nominees should demonstrate a history of remarkable contributions, leadership, and dedication.
This award highlights leadership in emergency responder health and wellness initiatives.
Sponsored by VFIS and Ward Diesel Filter Systems, it honors volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, or rescue workers who have made significant contributions to promoting responder health and wellness programs.
