NFPA sponsors Joey Gase in Talladega NASCAR race

Joey Gase will compete on behalf of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) at the Jack Link’s 500 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday April 26.

The NFPA announced that Gase will drive car number 44 for NY Racing at Talladega Superspeedway.

The vehicle features Sparky the Fire Dog to mark the 75th birthday of the fire safety mascot.

Sparky the Fire Dog has helped educate the public on fire prevention and safety since 1951.

The organization is celebrating the milestone with activities throughout the year to promote fire safety for children and families.

Race broadcast details and community outreach

Lorraine Carli, NFPA vice president of Outreach and Advocacy, said: “Having Joey back on the track at Talladega is another important opportunity to bring NFPA’s safety message to NASCAR fans throughout the country.

“As we share that message this week, it is also important to recognize that our hearts are with the Birmingham community following the tragic loss of three family members in a recent home fire.

“We extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragic event, which only underscores the importance of home fire safety.”

The race begins at 2 pm CST and will be broadcast on FOX and HBO Max.

Radio coverage is available via MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Ongoing sponsorship and racing schedule

Talladega represents a continuation of the ongoing racing sponsorship between Gase and the association.

The team recently represented the organization at Darlington Raceway and Martinsville Speedway as part of the NFPA 250.

These events extend the reach and impact of safety messaging to racing audiences.
