National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) President Jim Pauley has announced that he will retire from his position of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on the 31 July 2026.
Pauly revealed how he informed the Board of Directors of his intent to retire a little over a year ago, with the Association now beginning a search process for his replacement.
According to his statement, the process of finding Pauley’s replacement will begin around November 2025.
Spencer Stuart has been engaged by the NFPA, which is an internationally recognized executive search firm, to lead the search.
A more formal announcement is expected once the process has started.
Pauley said of his tenure in a statement: “In its nearly 130-year history, NFPA has had only seven Presidents. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as one of those seven.”
“I will be working with the board throughout the process to ensure a smooth transition. Until that time, we will be continuing to work at full speed to advance to the NFPA mission of helping to protect people and property from fire, life safety and electrical hazards.”
The current President of the NFPA has revealed that he will retire from the position of President and Chief Executive Officer on the 31 July 2026.
