The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has appointed Eurídice Ibarlucea J. as its new country manager for international business development in Mexico.
With nearly two decades of experience in fire protection and safety in the Mexican market, Ibarlucea will direct NFPA’s efforts to establish partnerships and implement NFPA codes and standards across Mexico.
Ibarlucea’s professional background includes extensive work in leadership roles where she expanded business and safety-focused initiatives for companies in the fire protection sector.
Most recently, she held the position of Vortex specialist country sales manager at Victaulic.
In this role, she was credited with increasing sales and expanding the company’s client base while promoting public safety standards.
Ibarlucea has played an active role in fire safety advocacy, currently serving as the president of the Asociación Mexicana de Protección contra Incendio (AMPCI).
Since taking on this role in 2023, she has supported the use of reference codes and standards to enhance fire safety for both individuals and industries in Mexico.
Her advocacy efforts include contributing to the technical review and Spanish translations of NFPA codes, promoting their application across Latin American countries.
Ibarlucea’s commitment to safety aligns with NFPA’s goals.
Olga Caledonia, NFPA’s director of International Business Development, emphasized the association’s confidence in Ibarlucea’s ability to lead their initiatives in Mexico: “Her deep knowledge of the Mexican market, coupled with her leadership experience and proven track record, makes her a valuable asset as we continue to advance fire and life safety practices in Mexico and beyond.”
As of October 22, Ibarlucea has begun representing NFPA at conferences and industry events throughout Mexico.
Her role includes engagement with government, media, and industry leaders to further NFPA’s mission of safety.
She will also oversee product development opportunities, emphasizing the relevance of a comprehensive Fire and Life Safety Ecosystem in the region.
Ibarlucea expressed her commitment to the role, stating: “I am honored to join NFPA and contribute to the critical work of advancing fire and life safety standards in Mexico.

Ibarlucea’s academic credentials include degrees in architecture and engineering from Instituto Politécnico Nacional, along with a master’s degree in engineering from Universidad Panamericana.
She has also received specialized training in fire protection systems and client-centered sales strategies.
Her technical background complements her new position as she brings expertise in both fire protection and business development to NFPA’s efforts in Mexico.
