The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced the licensing of its digital community risk assessment framework, CRAIG 1300, to Emergency Services Consulting International (ESCI).
The announcement was made at the Fire Rescue International event held in Dallas.
The licensed product will be marketed as the ESCI Community Risk Hub powered by CRAIG 1300.
Built on Esri’s ArcGIS platform, this tool enables users to visualize risk data, track risk reduction activities, and assess the effectiveness of community risk reduction (CRR) initiatives.
The ESCI Hub aligns with NFPA 1300 standards and is designed to support fire departments and safety officials across North America.
According to the NFPA, the ESCI Community Risk Hub offers precise data collection capabilities, extending down to individual addresses.
This level of detail supports accurate risk assessments and the development of effective risk reduction plans.
Karen Berard-Reed, senior strategist at NFPA, emphasized the importance of this tool: “Ultimately, the expansion of the CRAIG 1300 product line gives more fire departments and safety officials access to the data and information they need to maximize their Community Risk Reduction (CRR) efforts.
“We’re excited to deliver these enhanced resources to communities throughout North America.”
The platform also allows users to monitor the progress of their risk reduction efforts, aiding in the continual improvement of safety initiatives.
In addition to its detailed data capabilities, the ESCI Hub is designed to be user-friendly, especially for fire departments and safety officials who may not have advanced knowledge of GIS technology.
The interface is mobile-compatible, offering flexibility and ease of use in the field.
Joe Powers, managing director at ESCI, commented on the tool’s accessibility: “When customers purchase the ESCI Hub, they not only get an innovative, high-functioning collection of applications, they also get the resources and training to secure their success.
“This feature is key for customers who are eager to employ GIS-focused data solutions to drive CRR but may need some deployment support.”
The ESCI Community Risk Hub powered by CRAIG 1300 will be available to fire departments and safety organizations as a tiered subscription service.
The tool is offered in three different levels, each including training to assist with implementation and effective use.
ESCI staff are available to provide additional information about the different levels of service, helping potential customers select the subscription that best meets their needs.
