New ARFF vehicle delivery at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport

Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas, has taken delivery of three new Oshkosh Airport Products Striker 4×4 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles, as reported by Oshkosh Airport Products.

The fleet upgrade was completed in April 2024, replacing all frontline ARFF vehicles at the airport.

The delivery includes two Striker 4×4 vehicles with roof turrets and one Striker 4×4 vehicle equipped with a Snozzle high-reach extendable turret.

These vehicles were chosen for their innovative technology and reliability.

The Driver Enhanced Vision System (DEVS) is a highlighted feature, offering live flight data and enhanced visibility in poor conditions.

Features of the new Oshkosh ARFF vehicles

The new Striker 4×4 vehicles have a 1,500-gallon water capacity, 222 gallons of fluorine-free foam, and a 550-pound dry chemical capacity.

The use of fluorine-free foam aligns with modern safety and environmental standards.

The 4×4 capabilities ensure rapid response times, enhancing the effectiveness of aircraft rescue and firefighting operations.

Eric Hildreth, Battalion Chief with the Little Rock Fire Department, said: “Our ARFF crews are excited to welcome the new Oshkosh Airport Products Striker vehicles into service, which have made for a significant fleet upgrade.

“The advanced technology, cockpit ergonomics, operational performance, and accessibility of ongoing service support for the life of our apparatus were key factors in our decision.

“These vehicles represent our commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards for the airport and the traveling public.”

Maintenance and support for the new fleet

Service and maintenance for the new vehicles will be handled by Siddons-Martin Emergency Group’s Global ARFF Services division.

This division offers comprehensive solutions for airport emergency operations, including inspections, maintenance, custom upgrades, personnel training, and certification.

Jack Bermingham, business unit director at Oshkosh Airport Products, stated: “We are honored to have been selected for the fleet upgrade at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.

“Our team is dedicated to providing top-quality service and training, and we are confident these new Striker ARFF vehicles will deliver enhanced operational performance, ensuring they remain in peak condition and ready to respond effectively in any emergency situation.”
