National Foam has launched its UniversalF3 Green 1%-3% AR-SFFF (Alcohol-Resistant Synthetic Fluorine-Free Foam) concentrate.
According to the company, this foam is the first fluorine-free firefighting concentrate certified under UL and ULC 162 for Type II and Type III applications.
The product is designed to combat fuel-in-depth tank and spill fires.
It achieves certification when used as a 1% solution for hydrocarbon fuel fires and a 3% solution for polar fuel fires.
It has also received high ratings from LASTFIRE for performance across various nozzle configurations in both fresh and saltwater environments.
The UniversalF3 Green concentrate offers advantages for emergency response by reducing the foam volume required in firefighting.
Bobby Nelson, General Manager at National Foam, stated: “When fighting large hydrocarbon tank fires, using a 1% solution cuts the required foam volume by two-thirds compared to standard 3%-3% AR-SFFF concentrates, delivering a logistical advantage in emergency response.”
The foam is formulated for compatibility with fresh, brackish, or seawater and is applicable to industries where fuels are stored, processed, or transported.
Manufactured in Angier, North Carolina, the foam serves a wide range of industries, including oil, gas, chemical, and aviation fuel facilities.
The product is suitable for both mobile emergency response units and fixed systems.
UniversalF3 Green is designed to provide reliable firefighting performance for Class B hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuels in industrial and transport settings.
This fluorine-free foam concentrate aligns with the broader trend towards reducing environmental impact in firefighting operations.
By eliminating fluorine, UniversalF3 Green contributes to sustainable practices while maintaining compliance with established safety standards.
National Foam continues to develop products that address the evolving needs of the fire safety sector, providing solutions that meet stringent regulatory requirements.
National Foam has introduced UniversalF3 Green 1%-3% AR-SFFF, a fluorine-free firefighting foam certified under UL and ULC 162 standards.
It is the first AR-SFFF product to meet these certifications for Type II and Type III applications, with a 1% foam solution for hydrocarbon fires and 3% for polar fuel fires.
The foam reduces volume requirements by two-thirds in certain firefighting scenarios.
It is compatible with fresh, brackish, and seawater, suitable for global industries handling hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuels.
Manufactured in North Carolina, the foam supports sustainable firefighting practices by eliminating fluorine while addressing operational and environmental challenges.
