The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has opened nominations for its 2025 volunteer fire service awards.
These awards include the Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award, the Junior Firefighter of the Year Award, and the Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Award.
Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. EST on January 17, 2025.
Recipients of the Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award and the Junior Firefighter of the Year Award will receive a trip for themselves and a guest to the NVFC awards celebration in Alexandria, Virginia, on May 9, 2025.
The Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Award will be presented at a local event, allowing all program members to participate in the recognition.
The Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award is co-sponsored by VFIS and Ward Diesel Filter Systems.
This award honors active volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, or rescue workers who have demonstrated leadership in developing or advancing emergency responder health and wellness initiatives.
The Junior Firefighter of the Year Award, sponsored by California Casualty, highlights the contributions of individual junior firefighters who have exceeded expectations in serving their departments.
Additionally, the Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Award, also sponsored by California Casualty, recognizes programs or Explorer Posts that have showcased community impact, innovation, and creativity.
