National Fire Department of Colombia launches new guidance

The National Fire Department of Colombia (DNBC) has informed all the country’s fire departments that the “Brief Guide to International Cooperation” is now available.

Features of the document

This is a comprehensive document that brings together the guidelines for the management of cooperation initiatives and the reporting of these processes through the RUE System.

This guide launched by the DNBC facilitates the understanding and application of the procedures necessary to structure, manage and register cooperation projects.

Allowing for the standardization of the information in the Single Emergency Registry (RUE), improving the traceability of processes and strengthening institutional decision-making.

According to the guide, fire departments can access different types of cooperation, among which the following stand out:

  • Technical cooperation: Knowledge sharing, technical assistance and capacity building
  • Financial cooperation: Access to economic resources for the execution of projects
  • In-kind cooperation: Donation of equipment, tools and supplies
  • Bilateral and multilateral cooperation: Alliances with governments, agencies and international organizations
  • Decentralized cooperation: Articulation with territorial entities, NGOs and cooperation networks
