MSA Safety has announced two new additions to its fire service equipment range at the 2025 FDIC International conference in the United States.
The company introduced the G1 SCBA XR Edition and the Globe G-XTREME PRO Jacket.
These releases follow the recent launch of the Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet.
According to MSA Safety, the new equipment is intended to support operational efficiency, comfort and firefighter accountability.
The G1 SCBA XR Edition builds on a decade of updates to MSA Safety’s existing SCBA model.
New features include upgrades to the breathing air regulator and removable soft goods, such as straps, lumbar pad and fill pouches.
The XR Edition is backward-compatible with earlier G1 SCBA units and is scheduled to become available in May 2025.
The G1 SCBA includes standard voice amplification, radio interface capability and telemetry.
It is powered by a rechargeable battery.
MSA Safety reports that the G1 SCBA holds 15 U.S. patents.
The Globe G-XTREME PRO Jacket features a three-panel outer shell, mesh liner, redesigned collar and multiple length options.
According to MSA Safety, these elements aim to increase comfort and support movement for a broader range of users.
The new design will be offered for order later this year through Globe Manufacturing Company, an MSA Safety business.
MSA Safety President of Americas Stephanie Sciullo said: “Our customers drive our innovation and lead us to design safety solutions that best meet their safety needs.”
MSA Safety is also presenting its Cairns helmet series and FireGrid platform at booth 2623.
The Cairns 1836 Fire Helmet is highlighted for its light weight and compliance with NFPA standards.
Also on display are other traditional and rescue-style helmets.
FireGrid, a connected platform for digitized firefighting tasks, is also being promoted.
MSA Safety Executive Director Bob Apel said: “We take an integrated approach to developing our safety solutions and work to provide practical, streamlined equipment that elevates firefighter safety.”
