MSA Safety Completes 5 Million Acquisition of Autronica Fire and Security

MSA Safety has completed its acquisition of Autronica Fire and Security in a deal valued at approximately $555 million, expanding the company’s fire and gas detection capabilities across critical infrastructure, energy and marine markets.

The acquisition brings Trondheim, Norway-based Autronica into MSA Safety’s portfolio. Autronica designs, manufactures and supplies fire detection, gas detection and alarm systems, and reported approximately $160 million in sales in 2025.

According to MSA Safety, the transaction supports its Accelerate profitable growth strategy and strengthens its position in fixed detection by enabling the company to deliver more integrated safety solutions for high-hazard and regulated environments.

“We are excited to officially welcome Autronica to the MSA family,” said Steve Blanco, MSA Safety president and CEO. “The addition of this highly complementary business accelerates MSA’s fixed detection growth strategy by enhancing our ability to deliver integrated safety solutions across critical infrastructure, energy and marine applications.”

Blanco added that Autronica’s geographic footprint complements MSA’s existing market reach and positions the company to expand into a growing addressable market worth more than $3 billion.

The transaction is expected to be accretive to MSA Safety’s adjusted earnings per share in the first full year of ownership. MSA financed the acquisition using cash on hand and borrowings under its existing credit facility.
