The 1st State Vehicle Rescue Challenge of the Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) took place on September 26 and 27 at the Military Fire Academy.
The event gathered nine firefighting teams from across the state to showcase their vehicle rescue skills in front of agency representatives and students from Escola Estadual dos Palmares.
As reported by CBMMG, this event also marked the closing of Traffic Accident Prevention Week.
The activities aimed to raise awareness about road safety, emphasizing the importance of cautious driving to reduce accidents.
Students from the Civic-Military School in Ibirité actively participated in the event alongside the firefighters.
During the rescue challenge, 42 elementary students from Escola Estadual dos Palmares participated in workshops and lectures led by the CBMMG.
The students learned about safety rules, traffic signs, and the consequences of reckless driving.
The goal of these sessions was to instill a strong understanding of road safety principles and empower students to share these lessons with their families and communities.
The students, under the supervision of Lieutenant Marcelo and school supervisor Daniella, also took part in practical simulations.
These dramatizations allowed the students to put their knowledge into action, participating in awareness campaigns and observing live vehicle rescue operations.
CBMMG has emphasized the significance of educating young people on road safety.
The activities during Traffic Accident Prevention Week aimed to build awareness among students about the dangers of unsafe behavior on the roads.
These lessons were designed to help the students not only protect themselves but also contribute to the safety of their families and communities.
By involving students in real-life safety drills and interactive learning sessions, CBMMG hopes to instill a culture of responsibility that will last into adulthood.
This approach highlights the importance of education in reducing future accidents.
The rescue challenge showcased the skill and expertise of the participating firefighters.
Each team demonstrated their abilities in handling complex rescue scenarios, with a focus on safely extricating individuals from vehicles following accidents.
The event provided a platform for firefighters to improve their techniques while reinforcing public safety awareness through education.
CBMMG representatives were pleased with the involvement of both students and firefighters in the challenge, noting that the event was an effective way to connect rescue operations with community safety education.
The interaction between professionals and young learners was a key feature of the two-day event.
