A multi-home fire broke out on the evening of July 3, 2025, in Los Angeles, resulting in one death and multiple injuries.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the fire occurred in the 12900 block of West Corcoran Street and involved four properties, including both primary residences and accessory dwelling units (ADUs).
The fire was first reported shortly after 9:00 PM. When crews arrived, they observed active flames across three one-story homes.
Fireworks were still detonating in the area during the incident, which the LAFD said contributed to the fire’s spread and posed additional risks to nearby brush and structures.
The department initiated a defensive firefighting operation due to the rapid spread and hazards on scene. A knockdown was declared at 9:51 PM, roughly 53 minutes after the initial call.
In total, the incident affected four homes, several ADUs, and a parked vehicle.
The fire response included more than 130 personnel from LAFD and additional units from partner agencies.
LAFD confirmed that one man died in the incident and five others were injured.
A man estimated to be about 30 years old was found deceased once the fire was extinguished.
A 33-year-old woman sustained critical injuries and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
Four additional individuals were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but declined hospital transport.

Multiple animals were also injured in the incident. California Highway Patrol officers transported at least one injured dog to an emergency veterinary hospital.
LAFD requested assistance from Los Angeles Animal Services for additional animal welfare support.
