The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) commemorated its 100th anniversary with a Centennial Gala on December 13, 2024, at The Commons on the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City.
The event celebrated a century of service, bravery, and community engagement.
Over 230 attendees, including current and retired firefighters, professional staff, and community leaders, gathered to honor the Department’s rich legacy.
During the event, retired Fire Captain and Department Historian Dave Boucher and the Los Angeles County Fire Museum were recognized for their contributions in preserving the Department’s history.
The gala welcomed prominent figures, including Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Third District Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, and Fourth District Supervisor Janice Hahn.
Attendees enjoyed an evening of fellowship and networking in an elegant ballroom setting, accompanied by a program featuring a keynote address by Fire Chief Anthony Marrone and the premiere of the LACoFD Centennial Video.
Chief Marrone shared reflections on the Department’s legacy and its vision for the future: “Together, we will face new challenges and seize new opportunities to continue providing the highest level of service.”
The gala emphasized LACoFD’s resilience and commitment to community service.
Chief Marrone acknowledged the dedication of past and present firefighters and highlighted a forward-looking vision rooted in innovation and community engagement.
