Los Angeles Fire Department acknowledges achievements of uniformed and civilian staff

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) conducted a formal ceremony on March 14, 2024, at the LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Elysian Park, to celebrate the promotion of 52 of its members, both uniformed and civilian.

This event marks a milestone in the careers of these individuals, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to the department.

LAFD spokesperson Nicholas Prange highlighted the significance of this event in maintaining the department’s high standards.

Promotions span a range of ranks and roles

The ceremony saw the promotion of members across various ranks within the LAFD.

This included key positions like Chief Deputy, Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief, and Battalion Chief, among others.

Each promotee was individually honored, showcasing the diverse roles that contribute to the efficient functioning of the LAFD.

Listed among the promotees were Ronnie Villanueva as Chief Deputy and Jamie Brown as Deputy Chief.

In the role of Assistant Chief, Vincent Alvarado, Kairi Brown, Joseph Everett, William Peralta, and Timothy Wuerfel were recognized.

The promoted Battalion Chiefs included Josephe Angiuli, Glenn Baham, Robert Barna, Amy Bastman, Brian Franco, Jason Getchius, Justin Mendence, Adrian Vasquez, and Mattias Wikstrom.

Moreover, the promotions extended beyond uniformed staff to include civilians, emphasizing the integral role they play in the LAFD’s operations.

This included positions like Management Analyst, Senior Personnel Analyst, and Executive Administrative Assistant, highlighting the diverse skill sets required in the department.
