The Los Angeles Fire Department has reported that the Los Angeles Rams conducted their 2025 NFL Draft operations from the LAFD Air Operations base.
This marks the first time in league history that a team has used a fire station as its official draft headquarters.
According to the fire department, the setup was made possible through support from Zillow, which helped convert a recreation room at the base for use by Rams General Manager Les Snead and Head Coach Sean McVay.
A nearby hangar was adapted to host coaches, scouts, team staff and media during the three-day event from April 24 to April 26.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that its Air Operations unit remained fully operational during the event.
Interim Fire Chief Ronnie Villanueva said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Los Angeles Rams for their unwavering support of the Los Angeles City Fire Department and our wildfire-impacted communities.
“Hosting the NFL Draft at LAFD Air Operations highlights the critical role our Air Operations plays in protecting Los Angeles, especially during wildfire season.
“The Rams’ generosity—renovating our station and recognizing our firefighters—demonstrates a deep commitment to the city we all serve.
“We look forward to standing alongside the Rams in this meaningful event.”
Los Angeles Rams President Kevin Demoff said: “Drafting from LAFD Air Operations is a powerful reminder of what it means to represent Los Angeles.
“Since the wildfires devastated our region in January, we have looked to bring LA Together to help with the recovery efforts, raise the spirits of those impacted, and shine a light on our first responders.
“We are humbled to partner with LAFD during one of the NFL’s biggest moments to express gratitude for those who risk their lives daily to protect our city.”
The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the Rams, with support from Zillow, are renovating the LAFD Air Operations recreation room to provide firefighters a more comfortable space to rest between 24-hour shifts.
The Rams confirmed that Bob’s Discount Furniture, another team partner, supplied new recliners for the room.
The team also hosted a chalk talk event on April 25 with Coach Sean McVay, Rams President Kevin Demoff and other executives for regional first responders who assisted in January’s wildfire response.
Zillow Vice President of Brand and Product Marketing Beverly Jackson said: “We’re proud to return as a Rams Draft partner for the second year.
“At Zillow, we know that home is more than just a place — it’s about comfort, safety and a sense of belonging — and this year’s Draft Headquarters is a meaningful reflection of that.
“We’re grateful to play a small role in recognizing their service.”
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that custom LAFD and Rams apparel is available for purchase at official Rams stores.
All proceeds are being directed to the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross to support local firefighters and residents affected by recent wildfires in Southern California.
According to the Rams, the team has contributed nearly $2 million to wildfire relief efforts, including a $1 million donation from The Kroenke Family Foundation to the LAFD Foundation.
Additional activities included donation drives, football clinics for displaced youth, distribution events, and visits by players and alumni to impacted areas and fire bases.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly were among those who provided replacement uniforms and gear to local school teams.
