The County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Air Operations Section has been honored by the Society of Camera Operators (SCO) with the Governor’s Award at their Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony.
This banquet-style ceremony was held at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Assistant Fire Chief Robert Gaylor of Air Operations along with Battalion Chief Christopher Siok and Dennis Blumenthal, Chief, Helicopter Maintenance accepted the Governor’s Award on behalf of LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone and the Air Operations Section.
Michael Sagely, Pilot, Jose Murillo, Senior Helicopter Mechanic, Adrian De Los Reyes, Helicopter Inspector, Ruben “Mike” Perez and Mark Enriquez, Helicopter Mechanics also attended the awards ceremony as representatives of the Helicopter Maintenance Unit.
Matthew Moriarty, SCO’s President said at the ceremony: “This year’s awards not only celebrate excellence in our field, but also recognize the courage of our first responders.”
