Throughout February, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) and Los Angeles County Stentorians has celebrated Black History Month by recognizing the exceptional achievements and contributions of African American/Black individuals.
This month-long tribute honors the vital role that they have played and continue to do so in shaping the Department and serving the diverse communities of Los Angeles County.
Team members have attended events in the community in honor of Black History Month such as the Black College Expo, Blazing Trails – Celebrating the Legacy of African American Firefighters to name a few.
These events serve as a reminder of the importance of celebrating the rich history and remarkable achievements of African American/Black community.
The LACoFD expresses its deep gratitude to all African American/Black team members who have and continue to dedicate their service to the LACoFD and Los Angeles County residents.
In a statement, the LACoFD spoke on the importance of Black History Month and expressed gratitude to all their African American/ Black team members who have served the LACoFD and Los Angeles County residents: “Their courage, resilience, and commitment to public safety have left an indelible mark on the Department’s history and continue to inspire future generations of LACoFD team members.”
