Kawak Aviation, a provider of mission-critical utility aviation solutions, has announced on 9 June 2025 that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has officially issued U.S. Patent No. 12,304,629 for the company’s Cascade Aerial Firefighting Bucket.
The Cascade Bucket has been engineered for precision, reliability and multi-drop functionality, the system allows operators to release water in controlled segments during flight—providing tactical flexibility that conventional buckets can’t match.
Andrew Sawyer, Chief Design Officer at Kawak Aviation added: “This patent marks a pivotal moment for Kawak and the Cascade program.
“It’s the result of years of problem-solving, testing and close collaboration with operators in the field. More importantly, it secures the intellectual property behind a product we believe will help reshape how aerial firefighting missions are executed.”
The patent is the first of two filings associated with the Cascade Bucket technology, with a second patent currently under review.
Together, these filings will provide robust IP protection as Kawak continues to expand its footprint in global firefighting markets.
