As reported by Johnson Controls, the company has introduced the Johnson Controls Digital Enrollment mobile application.
This is the fire detection industry’s first mobile app for auto-addressing fire detection and alarm devices.
By scanning and downloading data via a QR code located on each addressable device, the app provides an addressing solution that eliminates errors and is faster compared to traditional methods, without the need for special tools.
The app enables users to install and configure addressable fire detection devices, including point detectors, notification devices, call points, and ancillaries under the Johnson Controls brands such as FireClass and Zettler.
The Digital Enrollment app offers two workflow options for completing a new fire alarm system installation.
The recommended option involves creating a device list on the mobile app and syncing it using the app’s panel configuration tool.
Alternatively, installers can download the device list from the configuration tool and sync that list with the serial numbers using the mobile app.
Martin Schulte-Frankenfeld, senior director of product management, fire detection at Johnson Controls, said: “The new Digital Enrollment app makes addressing new FireClass and Zettler fire alarm devices more efficient while making important device data very easy to access.
“This app is an extremely convenient tool for installers who configure fire alarm systems in buildings like hospitals, schools, campuses, offices, and more.”
Each device’s QR code contains a serial number, SKU code, model number, and manufacturing date.
This QR code also provides access to product-specific data such as technical publications, certificates, pricing, and ordering information.
The Digital Enrollment app not only facilitates new system installations but also makes it easier to reconcile the replacement of faulty or dirty devices.
Users can download the Johnson Controls Digital Enrollment app from the App Store and Google Play.
