JM Eagle provides funding for fire response and recovery

JM Eagle has donated $1.5 million to wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles, with funding directed to firefighter and first responder support.

The company allocated $500,000 each to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, and the Los Angeles Police Foundation.

The donations are being used to provide necessary equipment for emergency response and to assist first responders affected by the fires.

Equipment and protective measures funded

The funding has already been used to purchase a bulldozer for firefighting efforts and sandbag-making machinery to mitigate flooding and mudslides in burn areas.

JM Eagle stated that the funds would also contribute to equipping Los Angeles firefighters and first responders with protective gear to enhance their safety in ongoing and future wildfire responses.

Support for displaced first responders

A portion of the donation will be used to rebuild the homes of 12 first responders who lost their residences in the wildfires.

Brian K. Rice, Chair of the California Fire Foundation, said: “We deeply appreciate JM Eagle’s generous donation to our Foundation as the need for our California Firefighters Benevolent Fund grows.

“Our dedicated firefighters were out protecting their communities while some of their own homes were destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles fires, this support makes a profound difference as they take the first steps towards recovery and rebuilding.”

JM Eagle’s broader response to the disaster

JM Eagle turned its Los Angeles headquarters into an evacuation center for employees and their families affected by the fires.

The facility was stocked with essential supplies for those displaced by the disaster.

Walter Wang, Chairman and CEO of JM Eagle, said: “Los Angeles is our home and we have been moved by the incredible heroics of the LA Fire department and LA Police departments.

“As we all experience this new reality of a fire-ravaged city, we will help equip our local first responders to prevent future disasters and rebuild our city of angels.”
