Jim Burian joins Telgian Engineering to lead fire protection strategies

Jim Burian has recently been appointed as the Regional Practice Leader for Fire Protection Engineering at Telgian Engineering & Consulting, LLC (TEC).

In this role, Burian will spearhead the development and implementation of fire protection solutions tailored for TEC clients throughout the Midwest.

His appointment marks a strategic enhancement of TEC’s leadership team, aimed at bolstering the company’s service offerings in the fire protection sector.

Experience and leadership in fire protection

With over 13 years of experience in the public safety and Testing, Inspection, Certification (TIC) industries, Jim Burian brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position at TEC.

His previous roles have honed his skills in key account management, where he was recognized for his leadership abilities and innovative problem-solving techniques.

Burian’s background in engineering, project management, and compliance management equips him to effectively oversee TEC’s expanding fire protection engineering operations.

Background and qualifications

Prior to joining TEC, Jim Burian served as an Engineering Leader at UL Solutions, where he managed key accounts across various industries within the built environment.

His role involved creating lasting client relationships, analyzing business data, and identifying expansion opportunities.

Burian’s collaborative approach with teams across multiple sectors, such as fire suppression and building products, has been instrumental in delivering comprehensive project outcomes.

Burian earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

He is an active member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), and the Chicago Chapter of SFPE.
