Young Brigadier of Valor (JBV) students at the Mucuripe Lighthouse branch, from the Vicente Pinzon and Cais do Porto communities in Brazil, paid an educational visit to the Integrated Air Operations Coordination Office (CIOPAER) on the morning of Wednesday 9 July 2025.
The meeting, coordinated by Major Wilson, aimed to provide the young people with an immersive experience at CIOPAER facilities and expand their knowledge of the activities of pilots, crew members and aircraft mechanics.
The initiative is part of the ongoing training of the JBV, a social program maintained by the Ceará State Military Fire Department (CBMCE) through its Human Development and Training Center (CTDH).
Created in 2003 and initially known as the Young Volunteer Firefighter Program, the JBV trains adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17.
Its mission is to instill essential values of civic responsibility and citizenship, such as ethics, respect for cultural diversity, environmental protection and a commitment to health.
Firefighter training includes an annual 264-hour course, divided into two weekly sessions.
During the training, the young people learn about pre-hospital care, rescue techniques (water and at height), firefighting and receive guidance on united order, civil defense, ethics and citizenship.
The program also covers important cross-cutting topics such as traffic education, drug use prevention and health.
With this foundation, firefighters are able to provide first aid in emergencies and activate appropriate support, contributing significantly to community safety.
Furthermore, they are encouraged to promote volunteer work and disseminate a culture of accident prevention, especially in the home.
Finally, the visit to CIOPAER reinforces JBV’s commitment to offering practical and enriching experiences, preparing its participants to be more aware and active citizens.
