Global consulting firm J.S. Held has announced its acquisition of Technorm, a Quebec-based firm specializing in forensic engineering, building safety, and compliance.
According to J.S. Held, the acquisition integrates Technorm’s expertise with its global network of over 1,500 professionals across technical, scientific, and strategic disciplines.
Technorm President Marc-André Langevin said: “As a result of the transaction, Technorm clients now have access to more than 1,500 technical, scientific, financial, and strategic experts specializing in construction consulting, health and safety, the environment, forensic animation, materials analysis and lab testing, fire investigation, forensic accounting, human factors analysis, forensic architecture and engineering, and accident reconstruction, among others.”
Technorm’s expertise includes guiding building owners and developers through compliance with building codes and fire safety standards.
The firm also provides forensic engineering services, helping assess damage following events and producing detailed forensic reports for legal and insurance purposes.

Technorm has established a range of training courses centered on the National Building Code, Chapter I – Building. These programs target professionals in construction, architecture, and engineering and are recognized by multiple professional orders, including OAQ, OIQ, and Barreau du Québec.
The firm’s programs focus on continuing education, aiming to institutionalize and share the combined knowledge of its 70 professionals with the broader industry.
Technorm’s team of fire safety professionals also advises on designing fire protection systems for various building projects, supporting compliance and risk mitigation efforts.
The acquisition follows J.S. Held’s ongoing expansion across Canada, strengthening its capabilities to serve the nation’s growing market.
