Program launched to support military fire service personnel in Rio de Janeiro

As reported by the Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the “Caring for Heroes” Program was launched on July 30.

This initiative aims to provide expanded medical, dental, and social assistance services to active and reserve military fire service personnel, their dependents, and pensioners.

The first edition of this itinerant project took place at the Mangaratiba Barracks on the Costa Verde.

The program will continue at the Angra Barracks today and the Paraty Barracks tomorrow.

Services offered include consultations with various specialists, such as general practitioners, orthopedists, psychiatrists, and dentists, along with exams and procedures.

Educational activities like lectures and training are also part of the initiative.

Extensive health services for military fire service families

The initiative aims to benefit all regions of the state by offering a wide range of medical consultations.

The Secretary of State for Civil Defense and general commander of CBMERJ, Colonel Leandro Monteiro, emphasized the mission of the program: “The health and well-being of our heroes, both active and veteran, are our priorities.

“This attentive and careful look at the troops is our mission. This project also covers dependents and pensioners. Thus, the entire CBMERJ family will benefit.”

Complex cases identified during consultations will be referred for follow-up care within the company’s network or accredited partners.

All consultations will be recorded and analyzed to develop new projects that further benefit military personnel.

Early identification and prevention of health issues

Colonel Leandro Monteiro highlighted the broader impact of the program: “In addition to promoting health, ‘Caring for Heroes’ will allow for the early identification of diseases and social issues related to our military firefighters and their loved ones, improving the adoption of prevention actions in a joint and coordinated manner.”
